The Cass Report has confirmed that we now have all the evidence we need to show that these irreversible interventions should not be offered in hospitals, nor should they be publicly funded.
Stella - there was an interesting section on the Cass report on The Media Show this week on BBC Radio 4 and the problems of reporting on this issue. You can catch it on Sounds.
Hi Dr. O’Malley, as I read the report and listen to the news daily, I continue to hear the term “gender assigned at birth.” Why do keep using this term, even in the Cass report? We learned from biology class that Sex is established at conception and identified at birth (and your 20-week sonogram) Language matters!
It’s extraordinary and an indication of the long road ahead of us when we see how institutions and policy makers are willing to ignore first the WPATH Files and then the Cass Report xx
"Donaldson says, in the patients he treats...'If a transgender youth is refused medication and is forced to go through a puberty that does not match their gender identity, that will put them in a body that will make them stand out as a transgender individual for the rest of their lives.'" Where is the "them" that is not already in a body? They're going to arrive in some "body"? And that "body" will stand out...! This is all super sexist views on appearance.
Yes. All of this. Thank you, Stella.

Wow thanks I’ll look that up

Stella, I am genuinely sorry and embarrassed to tell you that here in Canada, the Cass Report may be ignored.
This report by our national broadcaster suggests that the Cass report was driven by bias.

It’s also blatantly transphobic. Why is it wrong for them to stand out as transgender? They will be transgender, why deny it?
