So is this the beginning of the next craze, “identity as the animal of your choice”. I just have no words. I am a teacher of 5/6 year olds. Dramatic play is part of there discovery and growing. They are free at recess to “pretend” to be bats, cats or dinosaurs. However when recess is over so is pretending. Kids need boundaries. This let the children lead thing is NOT working.
Oh for the love of...we really have to get beyond this paradigm of feelings over evidence. The opression olympics that are leading everyone (especially our kids) to reach for the low ground. It's insane and will lead to a generation whose only way to cope with hardship, or solve any problem is to appeal to authority
