When a kid gets wrapped up in a kind of fixation on medical transition, it can be very frightening for the family, but it could also feel like the parent is losing the child.
And so while the child is upstairs just kind of nurturing their persona, they don't actually know that they're at the very same time nurturing an anti-family, anti-parent doctrine.
